Welcome

For 125 years now, St. Andrew's has welcomed people into a community of faith "beside the tracks" in downtown Ayer, Massachusetts.  When people describe St. Andrew's they use words like: 'welcome,' 'relaxed,' and 'accepting.' We believe that a church should be a community that embraces the uniqueness of each individual.  We welcome and care for all people at every stage of their spiritual journey, and we seek to create opportunities for faith in God to be discovered, renewed and put into action.

Mission

We seek to grow in faith as individuals and as a community, to glorify God as revealed in Jesus Christ and to nurture those around us. We reach out to share His Word and His Love with all people, especially those in need.

  • Don't forget, the Garden Guild is meeting today (Wednesday) from 4:30- 7:30, with supper at 6:45.  Bring something to throw on the grill (yes we have one!) or something to share.  Please ring the ramp doorbell of the Parish Hall and meet there.  Contact Tommy Warner; tomwarner406@gmail.com

  • Reverend Christopher Whiteman

During July and August, our Sunday service time will be 9:00 AM. While Reverend Joyce is on vacation in July, our Celebrant will be the Reverend Christopher Whiteman.

Christopher is the Chaplain of Groton School where he leads chapel services, teaches, and shares in the life of the community.  After receiving a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the Harvard Extension School, he attended Harvard Divinity School.  While there, he was a Swartz Fellow, Hopkins Shareholder, Williams Scholar, and named the winner of the 2015 Billings Prize for Preaching. Please join us in welcoming Christopher at St. Andrew's.

  • This Fall, after Labor Day, our Sunday service schedule will change again. Beginning this fall, we will offer one service of Holy Eucharist each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour and an adult forum. At this unified service, we will celebrate the Holy Eucharist using Rite II from the BCP, or Enriching Our Worship three Sundays a month. Once a month, we will use Holy Eucharist Rite I.

  • After the 10:00 service this Sunday (June 25th) we will commission and bless Faith Salter and her canoe as she sets out for a Pilgrimage on the Connecticut River.  Faith is participating in River of Life: Connecticut River Pilgrimage, 2017 with Kairos Earth.  Learn more about the pilgrimage and Kairos Earth by clicking here.

  • We are participating in the Loaves and Fishes green bag neighborhood-based food donation program.  Please return yours this Sunday June 25th.
