For 125 years now, St. Andrew's has welcomed people into a community of faith "beside the tracks" in downtown Ayer, Massachusetts.  When people describe St. Andrew's they use words like: 'welcome,' 'relaxed,' and 'accepting.' We believe that a church should be a community that embraces the uniqueness of each individual.  We welcome and care for all people at every stage of their spiritual journey, and we seek to create opportunities for faith in God to be discovered, renewed and put into action.

We seek to grow in faith as individuals and as a community, to glorify God as revealed in Jesus Christ and to nurture those around us. We reach out to share His Word and His Love with all people, especially those in need.

Happening this week

  • Adult forums will start this Fall on September 17 - Sundays from 11:15 to noon following coffee hour in the Parish Hall.

    Topics will include:

    · Comparing Rites I and II

    · Science and Faith

    · New Members Class

  • We are holding two Open Houses to introduce St. Andrew's Sunday School program.  They will be held Wednesday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 22.  Both will be from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

Our program is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and is based on Montessori principles of in-dividual hands-on learning, which helps young children to develop and enjoy a relationship with Jesus the Good Shepherd through prayer, movement, and stories about Jesus. Older children are exposed to the breadth and depth of the Bible and its purpose. They also actively explore prayer and worship. The curriculum is for children ages 3-10 years old.

  • The office will be closed this Tuesday, July25th and open July 27th instead.

  • The Garden Guild will meet on Wednesday, July 26 at 4:30 (or whenever you can get there) to continue our weed-pulling efforts.  Bring something to share for supper; we will fire up the grill.  Please park on Faulkner St. as the church parking lot is reserved for that evening, and meet in the Peabody Room. Contact Isabel Geller at with any questions.

  • The Outreach Committee is asking parishioners to collect flat smooth rocks over the summer— rocks that can fit in the palm of your hand.  At the Sunday School picnic on September 10th we will provide paints and markers so people can write words of peace, love and hope on one side and identify St. Andrew’s on the other.  We will set the rocks outside hospitals, nursing homes, senior centers and other places where people could use a kind word.  Thank you for your help.

  • The annual Loaves & Fishes Backpack Drive is underway!  The deadline to bring in backpacks and needed items is August 13th.  Please click here for more information and to see the list of needed items.
